"We will reaffirm our common mission of healing and
discern and support creative ways
of meeting the needs of the poor, women, children and minorities."
-- 1995 Vision Statement
Hospitals have been the focus of the Hospital Sisters ministries but do
not be surprised to meet one of them in a grocery store shopping for a food
pantry or teaching religious education to a child. Some Sisters continue
to work in the hospitals; others volunteer or work in other health and social
services fields.
The foundation of the Hospital Sisters is built on bringing a healing
spirit to humankind wherever needed. This spirit shows itself in many
ways from a simple caring gesture to the establishment rural clinics and
working with AIDS patients.
