In memoriam: Sister Miriam Joseph Bardot

Sister Miriam Joseph Bardot, OSF (101), died on Monday, April 24, 2017, at 11:47 a.m. at St. Francis Convent, Springfield, IL.
Sister Miriam Joseph, the former Kathryn Leona Bardot, was born in Luebbering, MO, on March 17, 1916, the daughter of August and Cecilia (Barband) Bardot. She entered the Congregation on February 2, 1937 and professed her religious vows on October 4, 1939.
Sister Miriam Joseph graduated from St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1943 and from Quincy College in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
During her long years of ministry, she served in various HSHS hospitals in Wisconsin and Illinois in the Business Office as well as in the areas of Administration, Admitting, and Accounting. Sister Miriam Joseph retired from active duty in 1996.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Raymond and James Bardot, and five sisters: Cora Hanngiesser, Helen Schroeder, Mary McDermott, Alice Powers, and Rosalie Baur.
She is survived by a nephew, David Baur, of Gray, ME and her Franciscan Sisters with whom she shared her life for over 80 years.
Visitation will be held at St. Francis Convent from 4-7 p.m. with a Wake Service at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017. The Eucharistic Celebration and Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Andre Schludecker, OFM on Friday, April 28, 2017, at 10 a.m. in
St. Clare of Assisi Adoration Chapel at St. Francis Convent. Burial will be in Crucifixion Hill Cemetery.
